Play With Your Food Book

Today, we’re slurping spaghetti!

For the first activity, get some prepared spaghetti and encourage your child to eat the whole noodle using only their mouth to get the whole noodle! This helps strengthen the muscles in the mouth which benefits Speech and Language Development. If they aren’t interested in trying this out, try making a game out of it by racing each other!

The second activity helps with fine motor and scissor skills. With one hand, pick up a clump of spaghetti. With the other hand, start snipping away with some scissors! This is a fun way to start learning scissor skills, strengthen fine motor skills, and help kids get used to the texture of spaghetti!
